Welcome to IMSMetals & Alloys
Our objective is to responsibly source the commodities which supplement our everyday life.
Metals · Alloys · Recovery
Advanced metals, alloys and recycling solutions for global industry.
IMS sources, sorts and certifies high-performance alloys and metal-bearing residues arising from the aerospace, oil & gas, industrial gas turbine and stainless steel sectors — returning them to the melt as air-melt or vacuum grade material.

Arisings received and staged
Image 1 of 4: Sorted metal arisings being handled at a recycling operation
Our recycling process enables us to revalorise thousands of tons of material destined for landfill every year. This not only reduces environmental impact and valuable landfill space, but replaces metal units originating from primary mining operations.
Quality & compliance
A metallurgical laboratory at the centre of the operation.
Sample testing
New samples are received and analysed before material is accepted against a specification.
Feed-stock analysis
Daily feed stock is tested so that what enters the process is a known quantity, not an assumption.
Production monitoring
The production line is analysed in progress, giving data back to every area of plant operations.
Material traceability
Material is tracked through sorting and processing so its origin and specification stay attached to it.
IMS is committed to a policy of continuously improving quality performance throughout the business, to ensure the highest standards of product and service are achieved.
Certification accompanies material supplied by IMS. Specific standards and scheme accreditations are confirmed per contract — ask us for the documentation that applies to your requirement.
How IMS works
From arising to certified supply.
- 01
Source
Material is collected as arisings from petrochemical, oil & gas, industrial gas turbine and aerospace operations, alongside our international supply network.
- 02
Inspect
Incoming loads are sampled and booked in. Feed stock is checked against the declared specification before it enters the process.
- 03
Sort
Arisings are sorted and segregated by alloy family and grade, so that material is never downgraded by being mixed with a lower specification.
- 04
Process
Streams are processed into a saleable form — from coarse solids through to extremely fine metallic dusts and powders.
- 05
Certify
Our metallurgical laboratory analyses production and issues the certification that accompanies the material to the customer.
- 06
Supply
Certified material is supplied to end customers worldwide to be melted back into its parent alloy as either air-melt or vacuum grade product.
Why buyers work with IMS
Everything on this page can be checked.
How material is controlled
Specification, not approximation
Aerospace, oil & gas and turbine work leave no room for a grade that is nearly right. Material is identified and segregated so it returns to the melt as the alloy it actually is.
Metallurgical laboratory
Sample testing on receipt, daily feed-stock analysis and in-progress production monitoring. Certification travels with the material.
Processing others turn away
Extremely fine dusts, filtercakes, sludges and mixed tungsten forms are routine here. Difficult streams are the work, not the exception.
An international network
Routes that began in Eastern Europe now run internationally, alongside joint partnerships with several of the largest companies in the sector.
Published composition
Nominal chemistry for all 295 grades is on the site — not behind a login or a sales call.
Landfill turned back into metal
Recovery diverts material from disposal and replaces metal units that would otherwise come from primary mining.
